CURRENT/ONGOING NEEDS FOR RHS STUDENTS

This page identifies current needs for RHS students and opportunities to ensure that our alma mater has resources to maintain a great learning enviroment.

DONATIONS TO KEEP OUR STUDENTS WARM
We have been asked to help with donation of coats, gloves, hats, sweaters, scarves, and hoodies for students  in need.

This is an ongoing need and donations on gently used and new items will be accepted year round at our Alumni Luncheons or can be dropped off at Roosevelt High School.

Please contact Phyllis Anderson (314-776-6040) in the Principal’s Office if you have questions and/or need additional information.

THE ROUGH RIDER CLOSET
The alumni association is opening ”The Rough Rider Closet” in a vacant classroom near the social workers. It was found that teen  students did not have the means to get good school clothing and were not attending school because of this.

We are asking for donations  of clothing, shoes, purses, accessories, coats, hats to students and  jewelry, and makeup for girls. You can bring them to the August luncheon or even later as this will be an ongoing project. We hope to open by September 1, 2026.

We are also in need of of shelving, furniture, and garment racks to display items in a store like setting. If anyone could help us with these items or a provide cash donation to help us purchase these items, it would be very much apprecated.

Students will be provided the store items at no cost though they will only be allowed to visit once a day, Social Workers monitoring access to the “Closet”.
